Menu täysmaitoa voidaan säilyttää avaamattomana huoneenlämmössä. Avattuna maito säilyy jääkaapissa noin 5 vuorokautta. Täysmaitoon lisätyn laktaasientsyymin vaikutuksesta maidon laktoosi on hajonnut vähintään 80-prosenttisesti glukoosiksi ja galaktoosiksi.
Vähälaktoosinen täysmaito sopii myös henkilöille, joiden ruoansulatus ei pysty hajottamaan laktoosia. Täysmaitoon on lisätty D-vitamiinia.<br/>
