Leading the way to a more sustainable future

The concept of using our natural resources carefully is not new to edding. In fact, it has always been part of the company’s corporate social philosophy ever since it was established by its founders, Carl-Wilhelm Edding and Volker Ledermann, in 1960. Even in the early days, in addition to its commercial success, one of the foremost concerns of the family-owned business was that it should be socially responsible towards its employees and their families and protect the livelihoods of future generations. When it comes to protecting resources and preserving our environment, the edding EcoLine range shows how we want to be visionaries in the truest sense of the word.

The climate-neutral EcoLine markers are eco-friendly with at least 90% of the total plastic used; made from recycled material (including 83% post-consumer material). Through the use of post-consumer plastics, edding is currently saving up to 126 tonnes of carbon emissions every year. This amount of C02 would be enough for a car to travel around the world 15 times.

Edding EcoLine 24 Highlighter

  • Our e24 EcoLine highlighter is the first and most sustainable of its kind to be awarded the Blue Angel eco-label. Made from atleast 90% renewable resources, with waterbased ink it highlighters important notes or text passages in luminous colours. The e24 is refillable with HTK 25 ink, has a chisel tip with a stroke thickness of 2-5 mm. It comes in a 100% recycled cardboard box and is available in five luminous colours: yellow, orange, light green, light blue and pink.

edding EcoLine Whiteboard Markers

  • The edding 28 & 29 EcoLine whiteboard markers can be easily dry-wiped from virtually all non-porous surfaces. Better yet, if the cap is left off after a busy presentation or lecture, there is no need to worry - even after several days it won't dry out. It can be refilled and used multiple times with BTK 25 and BT 30 ink, making it not only eco-friendly but also economically viable for any office or educational facility. The e28 & e29 are available in four colours: black, red, blue and green.

Edding EcoLine Permanent Markers

  • The edding 21 & 22 permanent markers are quick-drying, low-odour and lightfast permanent providing long-lasting marking results and work on plastic, wood, metal, glass and cardboard alike. They can be refilled using MTK 25 and T 25 inks and used multiple times making it highly sustainable. Whats more, at least 90% of the total plastic used comes from recycled material (83% post-consumer, 7% pre-consumer). The e21 and e22 are available in four colours: black, red, green and blue.

Planting trees with edding EcoLine.

From April 2022, edding UK will donate 5p from the sale of every edding EcoLine marker to Tree Appeal.

The money donated will go towards their 'Trees for Schools' campaign whereby students in a UK school get involved and plant trees, reduce C02 in our atmosphere, and learn about the environment.

The campaign is also part of the Tree Twinning initiative through which every tree planted in the UK will also see a tree planted in Africa. This means for every 120 EcoLine markers sold, 2 trees will be planted (one in a UK school and one in Africa).

No one person alone can change the world overnight, but we strongly believe that through small collective changes to our day-to-day working practices we can make an active contribution to a more sustainable future.
